Enthusiasm abound, Alex has jumped headlong into surfboard shaping and design from his background in snowboarding. His dedicated stoke to clean lines though hand crafting surfboards is no surprise given his personal and his family’s reputation on the snow, in the water and through life — Alex brings a fresh stoke and an open heart to all that he pursues.

 

John Simon (CA)

John Simon is a young craftsman born and raised in Ventura California. Building a name as one of the most out of the box thinkers of his generation, John’s bright imagination and approach in the water couples brilliantly with skill beyond his years in the shaping bay. Now the cornerstone of our west coast team and frequently flying across the country to fill in with the east coast crew, John’s enthusiasm, work ethic and stoke cannot be understated or overlooked; a constant source of inspiration and clean as a whistle with his planer.


John Oppito (RI)

Based in Rhode Island, John has walked the walk for the past 10+ years shaping highly tuned performance shortboards for the Eastern seaboard and beyond. John’s involvement with Trimcraft adds an East Coast experience that is integral to Trimcraft’s homegrown feel and growth the world over.

Davey Smith (CA)

An original team rider and eventually senior designer and shaper at Channel Islands Surfboards, Davey is hailed as The Godfather of aerial surfing, is credited with developing the floater as a critical maneuver and has designed world title winning boards for the likes of Kelly Slater, Bobby Martinez, Lakey Peterson and a litany of champions. Through his passionate pursuit of the development of performance surfboard design and function, Davey has led numerous professional surfers in their pursuits and is a central figure in the Santa Barbara surf community.

Michael Arenal (CA)

Attention to detail is something that Michael points out in discussion and proves daily in the shaping room. Arenal represents the young professional modern shaper with his exploration of the opportunities available for the past few years — Michael sits at the exact point in the industry at which Trimcraft adds a renewed branch. We’re stoked to have him onboard, helping us understand the wants and needs of the future generations.

 

Mike Whisnant (FL)

Mike Whisnant is a Florida surf industry legend. With decades of experience as a local guru, in his over 10,000 hand shaped boards he has helped usher in a generation of surfers. The icing on the cake are his three wins at the Surf Expo Shape-Off series, including the ‘Master of the Masters’ series in 2016. As if any of that wasn’t enough to welcome him onto the Trimcraft team, Mike is also one of the kindest, most stoked people in the surf world and were honored to have his expertise in the family.

Jacob Ells (CA)

Residing deep in the valleys outside of Ojai, CA. Jacob has honed his shaping over the past number of years in a way that reflects his open mind and heart – resulting in an array of original alternative design concepts. With years of surf exploration under his belt and an unforgettable smile in the water, Jacob and his family are living the central coast surf lifestyle to its fullest.

Josh Peterson (NC)

Specializing in highly refined singlefins, twins and quads, his approach is well rounded and precise. Born and raised outside of Virginia Beach, VA. Josh has apprenticed with Bushman Hawaii, WRV in North Carolina, and is a mainstay of our east coast production.

 

Nico (Portugal)

Shaping some of Europes finest craft for over two decades under his Wavegliders brand, Nico is a huge asset to our crew and an amazing representation of a true surfboard craftsmen, touting world class skills in all aspects of surfboard building start to finish.
